About

I have seen and experienced the transformation that is possible with psychotherapy. My liberal arts background, life experience, work in the legal field as an attorney and extensive training make my approach unique and effective. Every life is laden with challenges and the journey with a therapist is to make meaning of those challenges and use them as a springboard for personal growth and more happiness in your life.

Individuals seek therapy for a wide variety of issues. Some frequently seen presenting issues include:

· Anxiety

· Stress

· Parenting Issues

· Depression

· Grief

· Trauma

· EMDR Certified

· Relationship Issues

· Gender Identity

· Sexual Identity

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." -Maya Angelou

For the past 10 years I've had a private practice working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. People come to me interested in change and are often excited to share their story and process. Although I specialize in trauma and life transitions, change comes from many different therapeutic approaches and I'm interested in tailoring each therapy to the individual's unique needs.

My own theory of how therapy changes and improves lives is informed by having the honor to be in therapeutic relationships with brave, open, willing participants who each have touched and taught me.

As a graduate intern at Dominican University I provided individual counseling to the student body. My post-graduate internships at Berkeley and Oakland public schools involved work with struggling students, their families, gang issues and trauma related work. I developed a group for children at risk for gang activity and a workshop for crisis intervention that I teach to interns annually through BACR (Bay Area Community Resources).

At Cal State East Bay, I worked as a psychotherapist intern in the Health Center providing therapy to a clinically and culturally diverse student population. I was also involved in outreach work to educate the campus population about mental health and the availability and benefits of individual and group counseling.

I am here to help and dedicate myself to bringing relief and growth to my clients.
